The Town Clerk is one of the centers of information for the Town of Colonie. We are responsible for accepting, filing, recording and maintaining all municipal records. In addition, we issue various licenses, permits and certificates to the public. Realizing that local government is the branch most directly affecting people's lives, we are here to serve and assist you.
Starting June 15th 2020, the Town Clerk Office will be opened to the public. However, we encourage the public to limit visits to essential business only or by appointment where possible
Some services that remain limited include:
- Peddler Permits,
- Block Parties,
- Games of Chance and
- Notary Services - are being done by appointment, please contact us to schedule a time.
Other applications such as handicap parking permits and dog licenses can be submitted electronically or by mail. Please use the icons below for applications and step by step instructions. Applications, along with additional documentation where required, may be submitted by mail to our office at 534 New Loudon Road, Latham, New York 12110, faxed to (518) 783-3409, or e-mail us as there is limited in-person transactions. Please contact us to assist with in person transactions where required or preferred. Kindly include a contact phone number in the event that our office requires additional information.

The Town Clerk is responsible for publishing the agenda and minutes for the Town Board meetings. Our office is frequently considered the center of town government and serves residents directly through the issuance of licenses, permits and records management.
