Assessor Department

Our Department is responsible for assessment administration of over 32,000 parcels for real property tax purposes, including ownership interests, property inventory records, tax maps, equitable property valuations, and exemptions as required by law.

We pride ourselves on providing professional service for each and every individual.

WE HAVE INFORMATION ON:

We receive a copy of building permits issued by the Town of Colonie, the Village of Colonie, and the Village of Menands. Our appraisal staff reviews and evaluates each of these permits for either inventory or assessment changes. This process also requires our appraisal staff to produce a supportable and defensible estimate of value from each permit. This value then becomes the new assessment.

TAX MAP INFORMATION:

If you need property information such as location, dimensions, and other information pertaining to a parcel of land subject to property taxes, visit the Albany County GIS Interactive Mapping for a downloadable pdf copy of the tax map.
