Introduction

The Town of Colonie Youth Services Division works cooperatively with the local community to coordinate, plan and develop programs and services that enhance and further develop the lives of our young people.

The Youth Services Division acts as a resource to young people, families, the North and South Colonie School Districts, CBA and to the community in general. We offer a number of programs and services which include:

  • Red Cross Babysitting Courses
  • Students In Local Government Day
  • Youth Advisory Board

The Youth Services Division also provides assistance in the planning and implementation of various Town events such as the Annual Easter Party and the Halloween Party.

Programs and Services

Student in Local Government Day
Colonie high school students shadow T.O.C. Departments to learn how local government works. Publicity through local schools.

Youth Advisory Board
The Youth Advisory Board meets the first Thursday of the month, October through May. The Advisory Board consists of select students from the town's three high schools, school administrators and various town officials. The board's activities serve to promote civic responsibility with participating students by selecting, planning and implementing projects.
Current projects include volunteering for Colonie Senior Services, fundraising walks, collecting items for social service organizations and assisting at Town special events.
