Welcome to Town of Colonie Golf Course
What's New - 2017

Welcome to the 2017 golf season! We are looking forward to another great year, playing host to over 30 leagues and 50 golf outings and tournaments in 2017. Once again over 60,000 rounds of golf are expected to be played over our 36 holes this season. Although the late snow pushed our starting dates into April, the golf course wintered very well and is in great condition. We are set for another great year of golf.

Martel’s Restaurant is looking forward to another great year as our food and beverage concessionaire. Martel’s offers great daily and outing menu options, truly enhancing our golfer’s experience. They have also expanded their patio to enhance the outdoor dining opportunities during the summer months.

As always, Colonie Residents and Senior Residents(age 62 and up) will register with the golf course to obtain their Colonie Resident discounts. Resident players just need to bring in their current Resident Permit to be placed in our data base as a Resident. If you are a non-senior Colonie Resident and you are already registered with us, you will not need to renew as you are currently in our system. Senior Residents will no longer go to the Town Clerks office to obtain their permits as they will now come to the golf course to register for the season long discounts. Senior Resident Permit holders DO need to re-register every season. The golf shop staff will take pictures of Residents, and ask for a driver’s license to verify age and residency for Resident Seniors. Resident golfers will only need to supply their name to make tee times and obtain Colonie Resident discounts.

A few congratulatory notes for Colonie Town Golf Course staff:

  • Greens Superintendent John Risler was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Northeast Golf Course Superintendent’s Association this past March. John’s amazing work for not only our golf course, but also for his professional association, has been duly recognized. If you see him around the course, please offer up your appreciation to him for a continued job well done.
  • This past November, Colonie Town Golf Course Manager and Head Golf Professional Noel Gebauer began serving a three year term on the PGA of America’s National Board of Directors. Noel will represent PGA Professionals from Northeastern New York and all of New England as one of 14 Directors tasked with leading the largest working sports organization in the world. The PGA of America not only holds high profile events like the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup, but they are constantly looking for ways to grow the game of golf through events and instruction, many of which are available right here at Colonie Town Golf Course.

It will be an enjoyable golf season at Colonie Town Golf Course. We are looking forward to seeing everyone out here having a great time playing in their league, outing, or just coming out to tee it up with friends and family.
