In addition, we provide in service training to firefighters as well as the public for topics related to fire suppression, hazardous materials and fire prevention. We administer the Town Municipal Training center and training facilities, maintain records and inspect underground tanks, calculate occupancy loads for all public assembly areas in Town, develop and implement juvenile fire setter intervention and rehabilitation programs.

Our Division is made up of three Fire Protection Specialists who are veteran Town of Colonie Firefighters. These specialists are New York State certified code enforcement officers as well as New York State and Nationally certified fire investigators.
