If you were interviewed, it's a good idea to call and thank the interview or send a thank you note. This shows that you understand that they did not have to speak with you, but took time out of their schedule to do so, because they believed that you might have the right skills, based on your application or resume.
Thank you notes look like this and should be sent as soon as possible when you get home from your interview.

This is a nice way to see what's happening. An employer may tell you that the position is filled OR that they are still looking at applications OR that they wish to see you for an interview OR may offer you the position. BE AWARE – some employers do not wish follow up phone calls.
