Post 8692 Members Bill Marquet, post Commander Robert
LaDuke, Jim Haas and Milt Greenfield unveil plans for
the memorial at a press conference on November 16, 2007. |
VFW Post 8692 is seeking
donations from the community, local businesses and other
veterans’ organizations. It is also reaching out to
local construction firms interested in donating labor, thereby
reducing the overall cost of the project. The project will
be funded entirely by community donations.
To help raise the monies needed, the VFW is also selling
bricks inscribed with the names
of Town veterans for families wishing to memorialize their
loved ones. The stone pavers, which cost $60 each, will
be placed in front of the memorial.
