The seven (7) not-for-profit senior citizens clubs located in the Town of Colonie offer activities and recreational opportunities for the Town’s adults age 60 or older. There are representatives from each of these clubs on the Colonie Senior Citizens Club Committee (originally known as the Colonie Senior Advisory Committee). The director of the Senior Resources Department chairs the committee, and representatives of Colonie Senior Service Centers, Inc. as well as the Senior Liaison to the Town Board attend. It is a forum to disseminate important information between the organizations to the club membership through their representatives. The committee also discusses, advises, promotes, and recommends suggestions on programs to enrich and enhance the social, educational and physical well-being of all town senior citizens.
