In August 2005, The Colonie Town Board adopted The
Comprehensive Plan. That document was the culmination of years of work,
created from the input and ideas of thousands of Town residents and business
people. The Comprehensive Plan has 68 different recommended actions the
Town could take to address issues involving land use, open space preservation,
economic development, transportation and recreation. The first
recommended action for implementation was to update zoning and subdivision
regulations to be consistent with the recommendations of the comprehensive plan
– an action that will implement more than a score of different Comprehensive
Plan recommendations.
