Mission Statement

The Mohawk River Community Partners of Colonie, Inc. is organized to identify, preserve, protect and promote the natural, scenic, cultural, historical, economic and recreational resources of the Mohawk River waterfront area in the Town of Colonie.

The Mohawk River Community Partners will work in cooperation with the Town of Colonie to encourage public/private partnerships locally, regionally and nationally to create and implement strategies to preserve, interpret, enhance and develop the resources of the Mohawk River waterfront for all to use and enjoy.

Specifically, the Mohawk River Community Partners will plan and implement projects that support river management, recreation and access, education and interpretation, the natural environment and the Town of Colonie's planning and development and implementation of a program for the waterfront area.

In addition, MRCP will develop and implement an ongoing community outreach strategy. These activities will be designed to inform the citizens of Colonie about the resources of this area and the importance of preserving the potential for opportunities that support the stewardship of Colonie's 10.2 miles of waterfront.
