Giving communities the tools to build their futures.
The Countryside Exchange is a program of the Glynwood Center, a non-profit organization located 50 miles north of New York City. The Glynwood Center is dedicated to helping communities find lasting solutions to challenging issues including protecting farmland, creating jobs, preserving historic buildings, controlling growth and conserving natural resources.
Using an extensive, international network of professionals and organizations, Glynwood strives to help communities shape their own futures - not by simply providing the answers, but the practical tools, skills and support that enable a community to find its own way. Glynwood Center also supports the host community after the Exchange week. Support can take the form of implementation and leadership training, small grants, consultation with Glynwood staff and continued contact with team members.
Since 1987, the Countryside Exchange has been held in more than 100 communities in the U.S, Canada, England, Scotland, Wales and Japan. The Exchange is coordinated in North America by Glynwood Center, a non-profit organization located in Cold Spring, New York.
