GRANDPARENTS' GALA
Friday, September 17 at 2:30 PM
Wouldn't it be fun if Grandma and Grandpa spent special
time with you? Celebrate Grandparents' Day together at our Gala! We'll
share stories, enjoy a snack, and make a keepsake craft. For preschool
kids ages 3 years & up with grandparent(s). Please register in
person beginning Wednesday, September 1 in Youth Services.
MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB
Saturdays, September 25 & October 23 at 2:00 PM
The Mother-Daughter Book Club is not merely about books.
It is about mothers & daughters, girls & women, and how reading
& talking enriches our relationships with one another. Spend the
afternoon together and enjoy our homemade refreshments too! Girls in
grades 5-8 are invited with Mom, Grandma or an aunt. The first book
will be chosen for you; then at the first session, we will decide which
books to read in the coming months. We meet once a month from September
through April. Please register in person beginning Wednesday, September
1 in Youth Services.
CHESS CLUB
Tuesdays, October 5 & 19 at 6:30 PM
Sharpen your skills with Matthew Rienhardt and challenge
your friends to a game of chess! Chess Club is held on the first and
third Tuesday of each month in the Activity Room. For students in 2nd
grade & older. Please register in person beginning Sunday, September
19 in Youth Services.
GNOME HOMES & FAIRY
HOUSES
Friday , October 8 at 4:00 PM
Build houses out of natural materials for "woodland
creatures" to live. Our Atrium Club tweens will help the younger
ones build with pinecones, twigs, leaves, shells, etc. Then we'd put
them in the atrium for patrons to see thru the windows.
LET'S GO LEGOS!
Thursdays, October 7 through November 4 at 4:00 PM
We're loco over Legos, we want more! So we'll continue
our Let's Go Lego Club through the school year. Bring your own or build
with ours, and grab a grown-up too if you wish. Each week, we'll display
your buildings in Youth Services for all to enjoy. For kids in grades
3-5. Please register in person beginning Sunday, September 19 in
Youth Services.
ATRIUM CLUB VOLUNTEERS
Fridays, October 15 through November 5 at 4:00 PM

TWEEN SCREEN
Tuesday, October 19 at 4:00 PM
Which is better, the movie or the book? Let's find out!
Pick up a copy Because of Winn Dixie, read it at home, then come in
to watch the movie together. Snacks, activities, and more! Kids in
4th grade and up may register in person beginning Sunday, September
19 in Youth Services.
TWEEN NIGHT OUT
Friday, October 22 at 7:00-9:00 PM
It's an after-hours party for kids in
5th-8th grades! Join us for pizza, soda, snacks, DJ dancing, DDR, Guitar
Hero, & Wii! A $2.00 charge will be collected when you sign up.
Tween Night Out will be held in October, January, March, and July. If
you wish to be on our e-mail list to remind you of the upcoming Tween

MY FAVORITE THINGS
What's your favorite thing to collect? Maybe it's seashells,
horses, dinosaurs, or rocks, whatever it may be, we'd love to showcase
your collection! Schedule a time with us at the Youth Services Desk.
SCRAPBOOKING
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, September 17-19; Friday, October 15
This September, we have a whole weekend to scrap summer
memories! In October, have your school-aged kids join us at 4:00 on
Friday the 16th before our evening get-together. Please register
in Youth Services beginning Wednesday, September 1.
ONE TOWN ONE BOOK
Saturday, October 16 at 2:00 PM
There is a children's version of the book being read
by the adults. It's title is THE MAYFLOWER AND THE PILGRIMS' NEW WORLD
by Nathaniel Philbrick. We have ordered extra copies and will hold a
book discussion on Saturday, October 16 at 2:00 PM. Come to the YS
Desk and pick up your copy and reserve your spot for the discussion.
