The American Philosophical Association is the main professional organization
for philosophers in the United States. Founded in 1900, its mission
is to promote the exchange of ideas among philosophers, to encourage
creative and scholarly activity in philosophy, to facilitate the professional
work and teaching of philosophers, and to represent philosophy as a
discipline.

on the Internet and has several additional features. Online since early
1997, this site is free to use, and doesn't require user registration
of any kind.
Ethics Update

This is a great site! It includes links to PowerPoint presentations,
articles and links but it is the streaming video links that really stand
out. There are videos of classroom lectures that make you really see
how remote learning can work. Oh and I left out the discussion forums.

A good source for basic information on topics and philosophers. Entries
are often fairly substantial.
Stanford Encyclopedia
of Philosophy http://plato.stanford.edu
Designed to provide high quality and up to date information. The goal
is to have each entry kept up to date by experts. There are currently
about 600 articles on line.

Catholic Conference (USCC) are the organizations of the American Catholic

margin when I looked in August 2001.
