The American Philosophical Association is the main professional organization for philosophers in the United States. Founded in 1900, its mission is to promote the exchange of ideas among philosophers, to encourage creative and scholarly activity in philosophy, to facilitate the professional work and teaching of philosophers, and to represent philosophy as a discipline.

Episteme Links http://www.epistemelinks.com/index.asp EpistemeLinks includes over 19,000 categorized links to philosophy resources on the Internet and has several additional features. Online since early 1997, this site is free to use, and doesn't require user registration of any kind.

Ethics Update http://ethics.sandiego.edu This is a great site! It includes links to PowerPoint presentations, articles and links but it is the streaming video links that really stand out. There are videos of classroom lectures that make you really see how remote learning can work. Oh and I left out the discussion forums. Check it out!

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy http://plato.stanford.edu
Designed to provide high quality and up to date information. The goal is to have each entry kept up to date by experts. There are currently about 600 articles on line.

Times Union Communities http://timesunion.com/communities/religion/ There may not be a comprehensive listing of local churches but the best around is at the Time Union. There were 58 church entries on the left margin when I looked in August 2001.
