Both Benjamin Franklin and Andrew Carnegie realized that reading, books, and the knowledge they provide should not be for just the few rich and privileged but for anyone who wanted to learn. Because of this belief, they made books available to the general public through their philanthropy.

ABOUT US: The Friends is a non-profit, all volunteer organization, whose only goal is service-- all membership dues and monies raised are used for library related community service. The Friends is governed by a Board of Directors and hold regular meetings bi-monthly, or more often, as determined by need. Meetings for 2011 will be on October 11 and December 13. OUR MISSION: The mission of the Friends group shall be to act as a bridge to the community by increasing public awareness of the library, promoting and encouraging cultural activities, and raising funds to enhance library activities.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Members are invited to participate in standing committees and help plan events for Membership, Programs and Outreach, Grant Writing, Publicity, and Hospitality.

OUR BOOKSTORE: The Friends operates a book sale kiosk at the Crossings of Colonie Farmer's Market from June through September. For dates and times, check the Market Web Page. Book donations are accepted at the Crossing's site.

HOW TO DONATE: All funds are deposited into the Accounts of the Friends of the William K. Sanford Town Library and are used for enhancing services. We suggest donation levels as follows, but donations in any amount are welcome.
