On
behalf of the Trustees and staff of the William K. Sanford Town Library,
I want to welcome you and thank you for visiting our web site.
Although we meet a great number of people in our day-to-day activities
at the library, we know that there are a lot of you who are looking for
information from a remote site, and so our site is designed to help you
get to your appointed destination in the quickest way possible. Of course,
if in the process you are drawn to visit us, our site will serve as a
wonderful introduction into just who we are, and what we can offer.
The library is located in the Town of Colonie, but we also have access
to collections in the two county area served by the Upper Hudson Library
System and, as a convenience, you can have books from another location
sent here to be picked up.
In addition to our online catalog, our web page offers you access to some
very useful online databases such as EBSCO Host for periodical and journal
articles, and Reference USA for information on business and residential
listings.
Our librarians have
created useful information about books and resources in many subject areas
which can be found in our Virtual Reference Desk. If you care to chat
with them about their respective areas, their e-mail
addresses are offered.
Beyond books and information,
the library is a wonderful gathering place for people to enjoy art shows,
adult and youth programs, and classes for computer and internet proficiency.
After checking us
out, I think you'll find that we're not only a great place to visit while
browsing the net, but an excellent source for your information needs.
Enjoy!
Robert Jaquay,
Library Director
