Meetings are held every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, a strengthening exercise class taught by club member Jo Wells is offered from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on every Thursday except the third Thursday of the month. On this Thursday, bingo is held. During the remainder of the day, a number of seniors like to play rummicube or socialize. Rummicube is a game played like rummy, using tiles instead of cards. Most of the members really like this game. It is a great game because you have to concentrate and watch the plays your opponents make and try to figure out what play you are going to make. Business meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month following lunch. During the year, there will be different speakers who talk about issues that concern seniors. Every summer a picnic is held in the park close to Bethany and there is also an annual holiday party. The Menands Senior Club has a very active Tour Committee who work very hard to plan trips that take place nearly every month. Club officers are looking for good ideas to improve the club and are looking forward to more people joining.
