Biography:
Nancy R. Hernandez, a Capital District resident for 32 years, resides in the Town of Colonie where she is an established Real Estate Broker with over 24 years experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Albany and currently is pursuing her Masters Degree in Public Administration from Marist College , anticipated date of graduation will be May 2012.
Nancy has also held other administrative positions within the State. She taught Spanish grammar and literature at Loudonville Christian School and is an active member of the Loudonville Community Church for over 22 years. Nancy and her husband David have lived in the Town of Colonie for over 24 years where they have raised four loving children: Jonathan (26), Juliana (24), Daniel (18) and Gabriella (15).
In 2007, Nancy Hernandez was elected to the Colonie Town Board and has successfully brought progressive change and improvements to the Town addressing safety, economic development, taxes and family/school issues. In 2011, Nancy Hernandez was re-elected to another four year term.
Nancy is a member of the legislative, appropriating, governing, and policy-determining body; responsible for appointing all non-elected officials and employees of the Town; acts on the recommended budget as well as approve its modifications; assists in the creation of non-compensatory advisory boards and appoints their members. Nancy Hernandez was selected as Deputy Supervisor and will assume the role of the Supervisor for the Town upon the absence of the Supervisor.
