New Hours at William K. Sanford Town Library
Loudonville , N.Y. –Beginning in 2012, the hours of operation at the William K. Sanford Town Library will be slightly modified.
New hours will be in effect Mondays through Thursdays and on Sundays. Hours of operation for Fridays and Saturdays are unchanged.
“The Library is one of our most valuable and popular Town services,” said Colonie Town Supervisor Paula A. Mahan. “I thank all of our Library staff for their dedication in providing a rich and varied range of services and programming for all our patrons.”
Hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., effective January 1, 2012.
A staff member will be at the Library until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday so that programs beginning at 7:00 p.m. may run until 8:50 p.m. However, patrons may not enter the Library for general library services after 8:00 p.m. on those days.
Last year, 346 adult programs, 113 teen programs, and 429 special programs for children were held at the Library. “These programs build on the information in the library and help bring it to life,” according to Library Director Richard Naylor
The Colonie Town Library has the highest book circulation of all the major libraries in the Upper Hudson Library system. Also, it has been voted “Best Children's Library” nine years running in the annual Times Union readers' poll.
