Introduction

As diagrammed above, the department is headed by a Commissioner of Public Works with five divisions working with me to provide for a more efficient level of service to taxpayers in the Town. Since being formed in 1996, efficiencies have developed in several areas including, but not limited to, staffing flexibility, improved purchasing practices, pooling of managers, and improved planning and coordination of public works related projects.

As the Town approaches the year 2008, many new challenges and concerns lie ahead. By developing this centralized department, I, along with the other division's department heads, are managing in a manner which allows for the excellent services the Town provides for its citizens not only to be maintained, but improved.
